Phoenix Roze. Have you heard of them? The jewelry world’s best kept secret, with impeccably talented designer, Guy Rozenstrich, behind the name. I was taken by the delicately beautiful necklaces within the collection. See for yourself below, and check out more necklaces along with other pieces here. You will love Phoenix Roze too!

This necklace is like a gorgeous tangled mess–makes me want to purposefully tangle my extra chains to create a similar look. This one is cool because it is 14k yellow and rose gold. The stones are pink tourmaline and priced at $475

Love the one-sided placement of the stones, but it doesn’t stop there, the stones also go from dark to light tourmaline. This one’s done in 14k gold, features a simple cross and priced at $425

The “Y-necklace” style is evident, but it doesn’t define the entire design. It is very subtle, just the small gold chain hanging in the center. Done in 14k yellow gold with blue and pink colored sapphires. Price: $275

This is a cute everyday staple piece–a delicate three ruby necklace. I like how the chain attaches to the pendant that way. Done in 14k yellow gold, priced at $365. Just think only $1 a day for a year!!

My trip to California was a quick one, and although there were so many things we wanted to do, the few that were chosen were amazing. An event that topped the list was a visit to the Beladora headquarters on Rodeo Drive! Never have I been on the infamous Rodeo Drive, but it is how most would describe it–unlike any other. The storefronts of places like Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Tiffany & Co. had their biggest jewels displayed in the California sun. Bentleys and Rolls Royces zoomed by, and over-accessorized pets were prancing in step.

Once inside Beladora, I got to meet Nancy along with her mounds of vintage, antique and estate jewelry. The selection at Beladora is truly unprecedented–it has access to the best jewelry being on Rodeo Drive, while being able to give its worldwide customers the best prices. The variety and selection, along with prices which don’t even compare to overpriced vintage boutiques is what keeps bringing me back to Beladora. I know when I am blogging and need some jewelry examples to represent a certain time period, Beladora is my first stop on my Internet searching adventure. They always seem to have just what I was imagining.

How cool is this lapis and jade apple pendant? It really stands out when you wear it and sits perfect when wearing a neckline like the one I’m in. The color combination is so vibrant. The pendant is from the ’70s and I have a very similar ring that has the same stones–lapis and jade. I think I am drawn to those two colors together. There is even a small diamond hanging off of the stem. If you love this necklace, you can purchase it (chain and all!) at Beladora2 (Beladora’s sister site).

The necklace is 16 inches long, on a 14k yellow gold chain. Price: $296.25 Click here to purchase.

Given: Ashley Olsen has the best jewelry ever. But anyone can have nice jewelry–it’s how you wear it that sets you a part from the rest. I like how she wears two medallion pendants at the same time, only difference: the chain length. This look is easy to pull off if you have two different chains; one long, the other about 24 or 30 inches. Of course two medallion pendants are needed: go for an Art Nouveau one and another that has gemstone detail. Matching yellow gold is the right idea as well!

This medallion pendant is from Doyle & Doyle’s Heirloom collection, which is designed by the Doyle sisters. So these pieces are modern jewelry, with an antique style. These come in several different choices for gemstone choice–I like the jadeite which is shown above. 18k yellow gold, price: $350

Doyle & Doyle also has this great Art Nouveau medallion pendant. Art Nouveau often features silhouettes of women, all done in yellow gold (often found on lockets). This one is done in 10k yellow gold and features diamonds. Price: $1200

Ever find a ring that was breath-taking, gorgeous, one-of-a-kind, had-to-have-it, and then when you politely ask to take a look at it, it either engulfs your tiny finger or won’t budge your pudge? Well here’s a solution! Rather than being disappointed and walking away–go for it! Take out that Visa and buy it! You could build up a nice collection of rings that don’t fit and then make a great statement necklace like the one above featuring rings. It will be beautiful–check out the ones I’ve picked for my “necklace of rings.”

First and foremost, you need a long 14k gold chain. I think the chain-style has everything to do with making or breaking this look. So, opt for a bead chain like this one in a long length. The 24 inch goes for $150 at Heavenly Treasures.

The Ocean Band designed by Manon von Gerkan is a good one to start off with. It has rose cut diamonds which give it a chunky, vintage feel with just enough sparkle. This ring is done in 14k yellow gold. Check out Manon Von Gerkan’s jewel box gallery.

Next, add a dark and oversized ring–a signet or intaglio perhaps. This large circular ring from Rowan & Rowan is good because of the black enameling. It features an urn done in diamonds (it is a Georgian mourning ring). Circa 1780, so this piece is extremely unique and a bit pricey: £2200.

To balance out all the chunkiness–add a few plain bands. Either wide or narrow, it is up to you I have chosen one wide and one narrow. This wide version has some detailing to it, as well as one star set diamonds. Priced at $850 from Doyle & Doyle.

Wanted to add a thin band that was black, so I found this black diamond band from Ice.com It is great because it is affordable and for some reason, they never have normal sizes in stock. At only $225 you get 14k white gold and teeny tiny black diamonds. Perfect for this necklace of rings.

Lastly, add a ring that is totally unexpected. Something that has a bold color or bold choice of gemstones. Here I chose a ruby dome ring. This ring is designed by Manon von Gerkan in 14k yellow gold.

Discovery Channel is a favorite, but Shark Week is a must! Inspired by these fascinating creatures, it would only be appropriate to wear one glistening from your neck. This necklace is designed by Cheeky Monkey Jewelry, which specializes in nature-inspired jewelry that is made from recycled gold. The Endangered Collection is very special and unique.

The shark necklace is from the Nature Collection and is done in 10k recycled gold. You can choose from having a Fair-trade sapphire, ruby or recycled diamond for the eye. Price: $290-295.

…I will be able to wear necklaces like these, jewelry so amazing it belongs in a museum. There are 559 carats of moonstone and 13 carats of diamonds! Assil New York has all the bold, statement-making jewelry you would only find on red carpets. Always fun to browse online! Moonstone has been more and more a favorite of mine–the more I see pieces featuring moonstone, the more intrigued I get. And seeing moonstone in person–breath taking!

“Joannes Treasure Hunt” jewelry items have recently been added to the amazing jewelry lineup at Ylang|23. Each piece has been brought back from various travels completed by store owner Joanne Teichman. With all the jewelry she has seen throughout her lifetime and experiences, it is certain that the pieces that are in the Treasure Hunt line are extremely unique. Each boulder opal is color coordinated with a cotton cord that compliments the stone nicely. Each is about 30 inches in length and sell for $325.

Fringe, fringe everywhere…this trend just keeps growing. I can’t even guesstimate where it started, shoes maybe? But it has drifted to the jewelry scene, and I’ve found these great examples of the fringe trend at Connoisseur Antiques–all vintage necklaces. These are all so intense, that other jewelry worn, especially earrings, should be minimal. Check them out below!

This fringe necklace is stunning! Circa 1970, this is all exceptional 18k Italian gold. I love that the clasp is just as glamourous, featuring a large carved jade with diamonds set on it. Price $23,750 can be found on 1st dibs, owned by Connoisseur Antiques.

A true definition of a fringe necklace, right here. The British word for bangs is fringe, and this necklace totally looks like golden bangs. All done in 18k yellow gold from Connoisseur Antiques. (This piece is not featured on 1st dibs)

This necklace looks like those Fiona Paxton necklaces that were seen on celebrities, like Drew Barrymore. This one however is vintage, 18k yellow gold (not glass beads), and features rubies, emeralds, sapphires and pearls. Way better! Priced at $13,400 from Connoisseur Antiques and featured at 1st dibs.

Drop Necklaces are beautiful, and that extra length can drape wonderfully upon the neckline. It is always a bit of a dilemma finding the perfect top to wear with this sort of necklace. Something with a deep v-neck or a sheer floral blouse would be ideal. I found some great examples, check them out below! All are antique and needed in anyone’s jewelry collection.

This one has an Edwardian style to it, although it does not specify what time period it is from. It is done in 18k white gold and features sapphires and diamonds. That sapphire is very pretty and weighs .80 carats. Priced at $850 from Israel Rose.

A piece from the Art Deco Era, this drop necklace features a gorgeous black opal that is bezel set, dangling from an opal that is also bezel set. All set in platinum, this piece is truly awesome! Priced at $4800 from Doyle & Doyle.

Eye-catching! Circa 1930s, this drop necklace shows off a large ruby and old mine cut diamonds. Of course it is all set in platinum and is priced at $4950. You can find this piece on 1st Dibs.

Just some amazing pendants, that are delicate and gorgeous! All unique in their own way–different styles, different materials, and from different periods of time. One thing is for sure, they are all vintage and would look great on. Read on for the details…

The white enameling is so unique on this pendant, you don’t see that too often. The green stones are peridots. You can find this piece from Craig Evan Small Estate Jewelry.

This pendant is delicate, intricate–just plain beautiful! It is comprised of moonstones, sapphires and diamonds. What is interesting about this piece is that it was created during a transitional time between two different artistic movements. This has allowed two different styles to be combined into this one pendant. The price is $5400, from Glorius Antique Jewelry, featured at 1stDibs.

This gold and crystal heart pendant belongs to the genre known as regard jewelry, which always includes the use of the stones ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, and diamond. The first letter of each of the gems is an acrostic that spells regard. Interesting, right? Circa 1890, featured at 1stdibs, priced at $1800.

Wow, all set in platinum this pendant is so pretty. It is done in blue and white enamel, from Craig Evan Small Estate Jewelry.

Everyone is talking about Amy Adams’ Fred Leighton bib necklace. Decked out in 630 carats of sapphires, emeralds, rubies and diamonds this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this stunning piece of jewelry. Beyonce actually wore the necklace in the November 2008 issue of InStyle magazine. Whether you loved or hated the red carpet look, statement necklaces are taking their turn in the limelight.

Rough edges, blemishes, and flaws–raw gemstones create character in the jewelry they reside. Whether it is a diamond that has been uncut, unpolished and “in the rough” or a prehistoric shark tooth, jewelry that features a raw material is beautiful and has become popular by up-and-coming designers. You can find examples in jewelry boutiques, online or even create your own if you find a rough stone and feel it is worthy to be showcased. I’ve found some great pieces that feature a Moroccan Azurite, a prehistoric shark tooth and a Kyanite crystal. Check them out below!

This necklace is designed by Melissa Joy Manning and features a royal blue Moroccan Azurite. The style of the 14k yellow gold prongs makes it resemble bird’s claws, grasping the stone. The price is $940 and it was even featured in Lucky magazine.

Designer Pade Vavra creates a tough, don’t-mess-with-me look with this great white shark tooth necklace. Those are diamonds you are seeing at the top of the tooth, as well as three black diamonds at the end of the chain (not visible). All is set in 18k peach gold and can be purchased at Ylang|23, for $2090.

I love this Kyanite crystal necklace set in 14k yellow gold from Zoe Chicco. It is geniusly designed to extend from 24-26 inches in length, giving you a nice and elongated look. This will easily layer with shorter charm necklaces. This necklace is $693 and each will vary slightly.

Last week’s episode of 90210 had Annie Wilson (Shenae Grimes) wearing an elegant bow necklace featuring diamonds. Although you can’t really see the necklace in the above picture, it went really well with the plaid button-up she was wearing. 90210 continues to showcase the latest trends in fashion and jewelry…so keep watching and spotting those trends you love! Check out the bow necklaces below to own your very own!

This one is vintage and flaunts 1.3 carats of diamonds. Done up in 14k yellow gold with a 16 inch integrated chain. From the Victorian Era, when bows were very popular to be featured in jewelry, especially necklaces. You can find it on Fay Cullen for $1200.

If you are looking for a brand new bow necklace rather than vintage, try this one! It is from Ross-Simons and is 18k white gold. The diamond weight on this piece is .20, so a big difference compared to the first. The price is $428 and the necklace can extend from 18 inches to 20 inches.

Another brand new bow necklace from Ross-Simons is this one, and it is two times the glitter. Not only does it have two extra tiny bows besides the main bow, it has two chains instead of one! Definitely more fancy and bold than the other bow necklaces above. Diamond weight is .45 and the pricetag is around $876.

Not only is the outfit in the photo above pretty insane, but the huge diamond necklace just tops it off perfectly. One would think that such a large necklace like that should be styled with a simple outfit, and no other accessories. However, just the opposite works extremely well as you can see. A huge diamond necklace like that is, of course, very pricey. We can all dream though…so I found a great lookalike at Fay Cullen worth $15000! The carat weight in total is 22.68!

Do you have a long, gold chain just laying in your jewelry box? Not too sure what to do with it? Well I’ve got the perfect pendant solutions to a long chain. First off, hopefully you’ve got a good, long chain to work with, preferably 20″ or more. A box link chain will do fine, or you could change it up with a different type (maybe like the ones in the picture above). If you don’t have one, and need to purchase a long chain, don’t be afraid to pay anywhere from $300+ because a heavy gold chain will last a lifetime, is very versatile, and is actually an investment in terms of gold prices.
Next, you need the perfect pendant. The size is important because it needs to be large either vertically or horizontally. I’ve noticed that this could get expensive, so certain gemstones like jade or mother-of-pearl are great choices because they are affordable and look great as a large pendant. Check out my choices below!

Smokey Quartz is a great gemstone and very affordable. This pendant is almost 12 carats, however the price is still a very affordable $50. The elongated style is a great one to wear on a long chain. This pendant is from Jewelry Television–I’d recommend sticking to browsing the website and not watching it on tv.

Hearts are always classic, and this pendant is not your typical diamond\plain\boring. The white part of it is called mother-of-pearl, and has a 14k gold filigree etched heart. It would be very pretty hanging from a long snake chain. It is from Ross-Simons and is $165.

I love this pendant! I never usually like this many gemstones in one piece of jewelry, but I can make an exception! There are peridots, garnets, citrines, amethyst, and diopsides. The emerald cut gems mixed in with the round makes it so unique. It can be purchased for $265 at Ross-Simons.

Did you know jade can be carved into beautiful designs like this? This is brown jade and the design is an intricate knot, called an endless knot. Jade has continuously been known for being a luck charm. Maybe this pendant will bring luck to its wearer. At only $100 from Ross-Simons, this would pull off the long chain look superbly!

Sapphires are my favorite gemstone. Most people do not like their birthstone, but I love mine. If you are also a September baby, I hope you love your birthstone too! Any piece of sapphire jewelry given as a gift represents trust, honesty and loyalty. When worn, sapphires are said to provide mental clarity and preception. I like that sapphire comes in all sorts of shades, not just the blue that one would normally picture. Its strength and hardness is also a huge plus, being able to be worn daily and cleans up well in a sonic cleaner.
I’ve had a new found love for layering charm-like necklaces. Here are a bunch that would be perfect for just that! Just click on the picture, and it will take you to the website where you can learn more information about it, even purchase the necklace if you like it!
